SHOT DOWN

Shot down, it hit the ground

It’s not too late, to turn this thing around around

Words said, we both bled,

Just two dancers, who fell out of step

Let’s catch this tailspin

The water’s creeping in

Hold on tight

Let’s see this out

Wet path, in this cold town,

Think I hear your steps, so I turn around

Moon shine, the evening sun

When life gets hard

we’re always on the run

Let’s catch this tailspin

The water’s creeping in

Hold on tight

Let’s see this out

Shot down, it hit the ground,

It’s not too late, to turn this thing around around

STEEL SHELL

Do you remember?  We spent a month or more

Livin’ in a car, it was 1999

We had long conversations, about our lives

Hurts and highs, burdens of the past

Just two drifters in a steel shell

And I should've been kinder, when I saw your pride

Telling me white lies, I shouldn't called it out

With our matching sunglasses, we were quite the pair

Two court jesters, floating through the air

Just two drifters in a steel shell

And I remember the nights, you’d fall asleep

and I’d look at the stars, and nurse my broken heart

And I’d shed a tear, for my dear mother

My friend and brother, less lucky than I

HOLD ON

Hold, hold on tight don’t let me go

It’s not your time to leave

I need you here with me

The day will come

When voices will be gone

So hold on.

Hold, hold on tight don’t let me go

Winds all change with time

Grapes all turn to wine

Mountains turn to dust

Sun turns to rust

And ghosts and whispers

Are at your door

Darling I’m ready

To catch your fall

Let me catch your fall

Who, who’ll walk with me if you’re gone?

Who’ll sit with me in the park?

Feel the cold when it’s dark?

There’s light ahead

just around the bend

And ghosts and whispers

Are at your door

Darling I’m ready

To catch your fall

Let me catch your fall

So hold on..

THE PROGRAMMING IS WRONG

In a thick and heavy daze, I woke up in a maze

In summary, I was in a bad dream

But now it’s bleeding into day

Spilling out the sides, an error in my reality

The programming is wrong, but oh

I hope there is someone

Who will find me here, if I keep still

Now I’m listening to the wind, it’s telling me something

But I can’t tell what it is trying to say

The trees are staring down at me, with curiosity

I say “Help me, down leave me here to die

In this godforsaken place

I don’t want to end this way

With only sounds of hearts, that I broke”

What are these trains flashing by

Who are these people inside?

The pied piper’s song has begun

I remember the writing on the wall, the letters were so small

On close inspection they said nothing at all

Just words that don’t make sense

Oh, a dream that wasn’t fed

These paths, they all look the same.

They break, they all wind around in vain

Notes upon a page, never to be sung

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

Private investigator,

stole my wife and now I hate her

She says she’s sad but I think she’s glad

I found his name in the yellow pages,

said he’d investigate in stages

Stage 3 he bedded my wife

I fell down, down to the ground

like a clown, the joke of the town

I should’ve known something was peculiar,

when she heard Jeff’s Hallelujah

she started to cry, I didn’t know why

And I’ve worked my life as a store detective

Clearly I’m not that perceptive

I paid a man to steal my wife

I fell down, down to the ground

like a clown, the joke of the town

And on Thursday, I received his invoice

A down payment, on his rolls Royce

n’ I hope he gets buyers remorse

Cause its one bill I’m not gonna pay

Private investigator,

I saw him joking with a waiter

A new girl by his side

I wonder where’s my wife

UNDER TREMBLING SKIES

She packed up her all her bags, in an old suit case

She closed the door and thought once more 'I gotta get out of this place'

He come home late from work, he read the note and cried

He always thought she’d go one day but he hoped he wasn’t right

He stood cold, as diamonds fell from his eyes

felt so old, under trembling skies

She moved to a new town she got a job and flat.

The man downstairs  looked with pity but she didn’t want that

And every night she’d walk,  through the city   streets

She’d walk til her legs would hurt and blisters touched her feet

She’d feel the cold, as diamonds fell from her eyes

felt so old, under trembling skies

And faded photos kept her company

She met different men, hung out at different bars,

She went home with one or two but nothing would ever      last

And she hurt like a child, when she thought of him back home,

But two wrongs don’t a make right, and it was time to go

SHIPWRECKED

The captain said there's been a change of plan, tonight we sail for a different land
The men spoke in hushed tones, wondering if they'd make it home
Twas two hours, before his decree, the captain read a letter from she
His queen requested he make haste, for foreign things she had a taste

But I, I don't want to die, under these stars, all alone
yeah I, I don't want to die, under these stars, far from home

Shipwrecked, three years ago, the only survivor to make it to shore
Didn't know if I would ever last, a shipwrecked boy’s gotta grow up fast
And I drew a picture of a lover I knew, to help me through the solitude.

At night, I'd talk to the stars, holes in a never-ending canvas of dark

But I, I don't want to die, under these stars, all alone

yeah I, I don't want to die, under these stars, far from home

It’s been 40 years since a merchant ship, was sailing back from the Orient

Found me there, skin and bone, helped me find my way back home

And now my hair is grey, my voice is thin, these are my last days

But it’s strange, when I close my eyes, I find myself under distant skies

'cause I, I want to die, under those stars, all alone

I, I want to die, under those stars, so far from home

THE PICTURE ON THE WALL

The picture on the wall, holds your face by my door

I made a mess of it all, I guess we call it a draw

But I guess it wasn’t a war, but it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

There’s a book by my bed, two months ago you read

haven’t moved it yet, not quite ready to forget

and I remember when, you shook your shoulders

shook your shoulders

shook your shoulders

shook your shoulders

Tangled hairs by my door, like tumbleweeds across the floor

I’m left soft and raw, an illness with no cure

But I guess it wasn’t a war, but it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

it sure felt like one

FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE

(Original song by The Cure)

I don't care if Monday's blue, Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too

Thursday I don't care about you, it's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart, Tuesday, Wednesday, break my heart

Oh, Thursday doesn't even start, it's Friday, I'm in love

Saturday wait, and Sunday always comes too late

But Friday never hesitate

I don't care if Monday's black, Tuesday, Wednesday, heart attack

Thursday never looking back, it's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can hold your head, Tuesday, Wednesday, stay in bed

and Thursday watch the walls instead, it's Friday, I'm in love

Saturday wait, and Sunday always comes too late

But Friday never hesitate

Dressed up to the eyes, a wonderful surprise

To see your shoes and your spirits rise,

Throw out your frown, smiling at the sound,

Sleek as a shriek spinning 'round and 'round

Always take a big bite, such a gorgeous sight

To see you there in the middle of the night

Never get enough, enough of this stuff

cause It's Friday, I'm in love

I don't care if Monday's blue, Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too

Thursday I don't care about you, it's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart, Tuesday, Wednesday, break my heart

Thursday doesn't even start, it's Friday, I'm in love

Saturday wait, and Sunday always comes too late

But Friday never hesitate

THE TRUCKIN' THING

Yes yes yes, I am the Truckin’ Man

Well I was born in the back of my ute

My mama never had no dispute

She build me up to be a man

Teaching me the best she can

Travelling around the nation wide

Gear box always by my side

And I’m living off the junk food junk

Picking up the hobo’s and the punks

And oh I’m happy as pie

I’m just do do do doing the trucking thing yeah

I love my truckin’, I love my truckin’ yes

Every where I go they call me Truck Man

People know I’m a travelling man

Drive real fast with radio

Blasting from my window

Living this life of luxury

Trucking life is just for me

And I feel so good that I could fly

Can’t stop now don’t have the time

And oh I’m happy as pie

I’m just do do do doing the trucking thing yeah

I love my truckin’, I love my truckin’ yes

Chickaboom

Ten wheels, ten tons, music on, through the night, ten wheels, ten tons

Well I got cuties by my side

And I got my baby in overdrive

I gotta doof doof in the trunk

And I got supplies in the bunk

Now they all wanna shake it with me

Cause I am the Truckin Man

Bang bang bang I got two doors

And my truck is bigger yours

And oh I’m happy as pie

I’m just do do do doing the trucking thing yeah

I love my truckin’, I love my truckin’ yes

Truckin’, it’s a serious business

ALL DAY LONG

All day long

You compromise your lungs

the words you use don’t belong

You’re wandering lost

the lonely streets of dust

as you count the cost, of your loss, what you’ve lost, is burning soft

All your life

You wandered through the strife

Believing in beautiful lies

All night long

Waiting for the dawn

As the silent song, lingers on, lingers on, on and on

And they all let you go

And they all let you go
And all the people left with nothing to show..

WATCHING YOU

I’m watching you, and I feel you watching me

We’re heading for a fall, the mountains got too tall

For us to climb, for us to climb

And we are here, all alone

All that’s left, is our  skin and bone

We’re heading for a fall, the mountains got too tall

For us to climb, for our hearts to climb

And here we lie, deep in the night

hoping our hearts can bend

It’s become a game of chess

It’s become a game of chess

And I don’t want to win

And I don’t want to win

AUTUMN MELODY

Go away from my prison cell and leave me to watch the flowers

There’s not much sun but they grow here anyway

Deep deep down inside my soul there’s a place that I call home

It’s where I go when things are not my way

Took a walk in the rain in the park, an old man came up to me

He said I’ve walked a thousand miles or maybe more

I said “I hope you find your destination and when you do,

Peace will enter through, the soles of your feet"

Under the bridge I lay

Darkness saturates the day

Sometimes everything is wrong

And then the feeling seems to pass on, awaY

And when the wind blows you know it’s time

Time to pack up your bags and move on with your life

Like the circus clown who’s travelling around from town to town

You pack up your heart and you move along

Gently shuffling to the rhythm of this song
